RadonDog started as a statement against the sloppy professional standards that dominated the field of construction science and industrial design 20 years ago. I needed to get out of the Ivory Tower of Academics because it was driving me nuts. I wanted to get into the field. I needed a change from teaching university seminars.

I'm older these days, and I want to be outside. I started a home inspection business, inspectingpro.com and Radondog.com with about $100 plus the cost of training. My company is doing OK!

These days, I do home inspection and Radon Measurement primarily for the Real Estate industry. When I'm not doing that, I measure Radon levels in schools, nursing homes, and multipurpose buildings. In the off-season, I'm doing humanitarian work in Africa, Asia, & Eastern Europe.

I use continuous monitoring of Radon levels. Over a 48 - 72 hour period, a continuous monitor can grab Radon levels for an hourly reading. There's no need for lab analysis.

I also use passive, activated charcoal measures. These are different than the continuous monitor. Instead of measuring Radon levels and their fluctuations, these measures gather the top level reading over a period of time. The test is sent to a lab for analysis, and you get a reading of the highest potential for Radon level in your house. After the reading, it takes 3-5 days to get a lab result.

The company quickly grew and cemented itself as the new golden standard in commercial construction. Today we continue to build on that legacy and strive for excellence in everything we do.
